The film is based on the real Battle of Yangshan. The well-equipped enemy 66th Infantry Division, commanded by Chiang Kai-shek's favored disciple Song Ruike, relied on the natural defenses of Yangshan to stubbornly resist, resulting in major casualties for our army during the initial assault.
