During the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, the heavily guarded imperial treasury was actually robbed of two million taels of gold by bandits. The chief constable, known as "Ten Thousand Kills," Leng Tianying (played by Chen Kuan-tai), was tasked with capturing the bandits led by Fang Fengjia (played by Ku Feng) within ten days. During the pursuit, Fang Fengjia deployed a large number of bandits disguised as villagers to launch surprise attacks on Leng Tianying and his men, resulting in heavy losses for them. Leng was also seriously injured and found himself in a desperate situation, when he unexpectedly learned a huge secret... This film's script is adapted from the famous kung fu film director Zhang Che's 1969 movie "Iron Hand No Mercy." It is the only costume martial arts work in director Gui Zhi Hong's career, featuring themes of desires, the eradication of greed, and self-sacrifice for righteousness, creating a unique framework and a profound atmosphere.
