Adapted from the story of Bao Gong (Jing Miao) conducting a night trial of Guo Huai (Chen Youxin). While on patrol, Bao Gong's official hat is blown away by a strange wind, and he discovers in a village a blind woman who turns out to be Li Fei (Ouyang Shafei), expelled from the palace by the late emperor. She had been demoted to the cold palace after being traded for a prince by Liu Fei (Gao Baoshu) and Guo Huai and later faked her death to escape during a fire. Knowing that Guo Huai and Liu Fei wield great power in the palace, Bao Gong devises a clever plan to lure Guo Huai to Kaifeng, secretly arranging the prison to resemble the underworld, and using a maid (Li Jing) disguised as the ghost of Kou Zhu (Ling Bo) to induce Guo Huai to confess.
