After the death of his wife (played by Li Siqi), the enormous responsibility of raising two children falls on Li Ziliang (played by Liu Songren). In order to treat his wife, the family has already accumulated significant debt, and unable to continue living, Li Ziliang ultimately turns to high-interest loans. The only outcome awaiting him is a relentless increase in interest, leading to eventual inability to repay. Meanwhile, the relationship between Li Ziliang and his two sons continues to deteriorate. The grandfather (played by Liu Zhaoming) rushes from out of town and learns about everything happening at home. He resolutely decides to help Li Ziliang pay off the debts. However, the loan sharks do not let up and instead intensify their pressure by imposing the debts of his colleagues onto him. Li Ziliang decides to escape far away with his two children, but unexpectedly, his elder son (played by Huang Kunxuan) delays to retrieve his father’s beloved watch, resulting in the younger son being kidnapped by gangsters, plunging the situation into crisis.
