African American Marcus (Lance Gross) and beautiful Lucia from Mexico (America Ferrera) have decided to get married! Their decision is immediately met with heartfelt blessings from friends around them, as Marcus and Lucia seem destined to be together, like a match made in heaven. Immersed in deep happiness, Marcus and Lucia decide to bring their parents together for a dinner, but unexpectedly, a series of unpleasant events cause their fathers, Brad (Forrest Whitaker) and Miguel (Carlos Mencia), to become bitter enemies. However, personal grievances cannot stop Marcus and Lucia from moving steadfastly towards marriage.
