The hero Qi Rufeng raised Fang Gang (Wang Yu), the son of his deceased servant Fang Cheng, after saving him. He intended to make Fang Gang the leader, which incited jealousy from Fang Gang's senior brother. Unable to win Fang Gang's affection, Qi Rufeng's daughter Qi Pei teamed up with her brother to challenge Fang Gang to a duel, but accidentally severed Fang Gang's right arm. Fang Gang, injured, fled the Qi family. After being rescued by the girl Xiaoman (Jiao Jiao), Fang Gang initially fell into despair but regained his confidence through Xiaoman's encouragement, mastering the "Left-Handed Blade" technique from her father's secret manual. Qi Rufeng’s enemies, the smiling Erlang and the Long-Armed Demon, killed all of Qi's disciples and imprisoned Qi Pei and Qi Rufeng. Remembering his mentor's grace, Fang Gang resolved to set aside his grudges and aid the Qi family.
