"Edge of Darkness" is adapted from a six-hour mini-series by the BBC from 1985. Boston police homicide detective Thomas Craven (played by Mel Gibson) is a devoted single father to his 24-year-old daughter, but life takes a tragic turn when his daughter is murdered on the steps of their home. Thomas believes the real target of the killer is him, and he stubbornly delves into the case. However, as the investigation deepens, he discovers that his daughter's murder has deeper implications, revealing corruption within the entire government system.
