Jack (played by Edward Burns) is a skilled con artist whose handsome appearance helps him succeed in his scams. One day, Jack and his friends devise a scheme against accountant Winston (played by Dustin Hoffman). They pose as an art group and effortlessly cheat Winston out of 5 million dollars. However, after Jack gets the money, various acquaintances come to share in the spoils, and soon the 5 million dollars are gone. Unfortunately, disasters follow; the scammed accountant Winston turns out to be a local mob boss. When he learns he has been conned, he erupts in fury and sends people to deal with Jack harshly. When Winston discovers that his 5 million has been completely drained, he forces Jack to design a con to scam him back 5 million dollars. Reluctantly, Jack creates a new scheme, but just as everything is set, an unexpected event occurs!
