Logan (Zac Efron) is a U.S. Marine sergeant who unexpectedly finds a photograph of a girl while on the battlefield. Logan repeatedly escapes death from combat missions in Iraq, and his comrades refer to her as his lucky charm. While his fellow soldiers fall in unexpected combat situations, Logan survives, leading him to see the photo as his good luck token, feeling gratitude towards the girl in the picture. After completing his service, he returns to the U.S. with the determination to find the stranger in the photo. Logan walks across multiple cities in America with his dog, inquiring everywhere until he finally locates the home of the girl named Beth (Taylor Schilling). By chance, Logan gets a job at the animal facility that Beth runs. As they spend time together, they gradually get to know each other, and Logan finds himself developing feelings for Beth beyond mere gratitude as he becomes more familiar with her complicated life... Adapted from Nicholas Sparks' novel "The Lucky One," also known as "The Note." This film is the seventh of his novels to be brought to the screen.
