The film tells a true story about the first day of the Lebanon War in June 1982, where four young Israeli soldiers drive a tank alone and are required to cooperate with a team of ground soldiers in combat. The first mission of the unit is to enter a Lebanese civilian village and eliminate those who appear to be members of the PLO. The commander, Jamili, describes the operation as "quick and simple," but as the soldiers enter the village, the seemingly straightforward task quickly becomes complicated, ultimately turning into a nightmare of slaughter. From the moment the mission begins, they lose contact with other units, and the four soldiers find themselves trapped in a death trap. The film "Lebanon" portrays the chaotic and complex nature of the Middle Eastern war, inevitably touching upon political issues. However, the most important aspect is that the director aims to depict the awakening of four young men in their early twenties who suddenly find themselves in the brutal reality of killing civilians, where murder becomes something they have to do. They are not heroes, nor does anyone want to be a hero. Their survival instincts and human values clash violently, making it a chilling human tragedy.
