Between 1985 and 1987, the Polish security services launched a secret operation named "Hyacinth," tracking and detaining gay men within the country. Approximately 11,000 individuals were entered into a database, and they subsequently faced threats and blackmail. All of this began with a mysterious murder case. A wealthy businessman was murdered in his villa, and the pursuit of the culprit was shrouded in mystery. The male protagonist, Robert, is a young and earnest police officer who, despite his father being a chief inspector, is averse to nepotism and is determined to uncover the truth behind the case. Without his fiancée's knowledge, Robert goes undercover in the gay community, where he meets Eric, an extroverted male college student. Eric is a bold and confident young man with a Western education. He instinctively trusts Robert, sharing his grievances about the despicable Hyacinth operation and revealing some details related to the murder case. Sensing his partner's inner torment, Eric tells Robert that one cannot be afraid of everything, especially not of freedom... As Robert delves deeper into the investigation, he uncovers a vast network of money and sex behind the wealthy businessman, and his infatuation with Eric brings him peril...
