A cargo ship exploded in the Port of San Pedro, California, resulting in 27 deaths and $90 million missing. After the incident, FBI agent Kujan waited for the comatose survivor in the hospital; Customs officer Dave (played by Chazz Palminteri) interrogated another survivor, Verbal Kint (played by Kevin Spacey), who had received a grant of immunity. Verbal confessed that those who perished in the incident—Keaton (Gabriel Byrne), Fenster (Benicio del Toro), McManus (Stephen Baldwin), and Dubin (Kevin Pollak)—along with himself, had been brought into the police station six months prior as suspects in a truck heist. The five formed a criminal gang, working together and making several scores. Their good fortune did not last long; one day, lawyer Kobayashi (played by Peter Postlethwaite) approached them, asking them to help the mysterious boss Keyser Söze burn the drugs on the ship. Fenster was the first to back out and was subsequently killed, leaving the remaining four to accept the task. On the ship, McManus, Fenster, and Keaton couldn't find the drugs and were killed by Keyser one after the other, while Kint survived by staying on shore to assist. On the other hand, the survivor in the hospital pieced together a portrait of Keyser, shocking everyone...
