The Southern Song Dynasty is a time when humans and demons are indistinguishable. Monk Fahai (played by Zhao Wenzhuo) captures demons everywhere, disrupting the practice of the White and Green Snakes at the bottom of West Lake. Qing (played by Maggie Cheung) was saved by Bai (played by Joey Wong), and they call each other sisters. The two sisters, enchanted, disguise themselves as humans and live among the people, with Bai marrying the honest scholar Xu Xian; Qing also develops feelings for Xu Xian and often tries to seduce him, but unfortunately, Xu Xian only loves Bai.
