In 1920s Paris, Japanese artist Tsuguharu Fujita fell in love with the city. His unique interpretation of nude women captivated the entire Montparnasse art circle. He had close friendships with masters like Fernand Léger, Chagall, Picasso, and Mondrian. His life was colorful and vibrant. During World War II, he returned to his homeland of Japan, where his life and beliefs were shattered by the war. He and his wife secluded themselves in the small northern town of Aomori, escaping the conflict, and he discovered a Japan he had never known.
