Fifteen-year-old Mia (Katie Jarvis) has a rebellious and eccentric personality. A troublemaker, she not only gets expelled from school but also loses her best friend. Mia loves to dance, but it seems that few people around her care about her passionate movements until a man named Connor (Michael Fassbender) appears. Connor is her mother’s boyfriend, and during the time he lives with her mother, Mia becomes attracted to this handsome and friendly man. With Connor's support and encouragement, Mia gets an opportunity for a dance audition, and her relationship with Connor deepens. However, the real world is not as wonderful as it seems... This film is directed by British director Andrea Arnold, who won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival in 2006 for "Red Road." It is her second feature film. As a competition film at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival, "Fish Tank" received 8 nominations at the 2009 British Independent Film Awards.
