Stephens) leads his apprentices Balthazar (played by Nicolas Cage), Veronica (played by Monica Bellucci), and Horvath to battle against the evil witch Morgana le Fay (played by Alice Krige). To imprison the witch, Veronica swallows Morgana's soul into her own body, and Balthazar seals them both in dolls. Before dying, Merlin gives Balthazar a dragon ring, tasking him to find the hero of Merlin to eliminate Morgana completely. Over the years, Balthazar travels around the world searching for the hero of Merlin but finds nothing until he arrives in New York City. In the year 2000, fourth-grader Dave fatefully encounters Balthazar in a magic shop in New York and receives confirmation of the dragon ring. During this time, he inadvertently releases the evil Horvath, causing a massive chaos, and his classmates think Dave is mentally disturbed. Ten years pass, and Dave (played by Jay Baruchel) has grown into a handsome young man. The experiences of his childhood feel like a nightmare but resurface a decade later, forcing him to follow his fate and engage in the final battle against the witch…
