In the late 1950s, the once-flourishing theater scene underwent drastic changes; people became enamored with television and rock music, leaving behind the various forms of entertainment that had accompanied them in their youth. He is an experienced magician, graceful and composed on stage, but in reality, he must circulate through various performance venues—ranging from opulent concert halls to run-down, remote taverns—just to make a meager living. Despite this struggle, his dedication to magic remains unwavering. While staying in the countryside of Scotland, the magician meets a little girl who is fascinated by his magical powers. She secretly leaves her hometown to follow in the magician's footsteps. They eventually make their way to Edinburgh, where life becomes increasingly difficult. To fulfill the girl's trust in magic and her longing for a glamorous world, the magician must devise various ways to earn money... This film won the Best Animated Feature Award at the 2010 European Film Festival and the Best Animated Feature Award from the New York Film Critics Circle in 2010.
