International drug investigation division sergeant Lok Ying Choi (played by Zhang Zhaohui) becomes embroiled in a bribery scandal and is transferred to a local police station by his superior Ma Wenchao (played by Ren Dahua), where he takes over the investigation of a body discovery case from inspector Zhang Jiayin (played by Shao Meiqi). The victim, Hu Yingyong (played by He Huachao), was found dead by a maintenance worker during a renovation project and had been dead for eight years. Lok Ying Choi identifies the suspects as Lan Mian Chao (played by Hong Tianming) and the victim's wife Yan Fengping (played by Chen Jing), both of whom had motives for committing murder due to infidelity. The case is questioned by senior prosecutor Shandu Shi (played by Joe Junior). The deceased had a notorious past involving rape, drug trafficking, and extortion, which also entangles Lok Ying Choi in some unspeakable dealings with the gang leader Fei Wei (played by Lin Xue).
