Three siblings lost their parents in a fire and inherited a large fortune left by them. Since they are still young, they can only access the money when they reach the legal age. Thus, the three siblings are temporarily taken to the home of their distant relative, Olaf (played by Jim Carrey), to be raised by him. The eldest sister, Violet (played by Emily Browning), is a creative inventor, while the brother Klaus is knowledgeable and a little scholar. The youngest child has sharp teeth and speaks in a way that only his siblings can understand. This time, the siblings fall into Olaf's trap, as this greedy relative has set his sights on their inheritance. They find themselves in one perilous situation after another, and it seems that Olaf is determined to bring about their demise. So, they escape to their uncle's house, who is a biologist, but it's filled with snakes and quite terrifying. Even worse, Olaf follows them like an inescapable shadow. The three children continue to flee, and upon discovering that their aunt's house isn't a safe place either, they decide to rely on themselves and confront the evil Olaf head-on.
