The film is based on a true story, showcasing the legendary tale of an idealist and a story of wandering. Christopher (Emile Hirsch) comes from a wealthy family, a top student at the prestigious private school Emory in Atlanta, with a bright future ahead. However, after graduating from school, he chooses a completely different life, giving up an enviable job, donating his savings to charity, and going to Alaska to find himself. Despite his family's advice against it, he embarks on a slow journey back to nature, becoming a true vagabond.
