The story takes place in the early twentieth century when the Australian government decided to implement a cruel plan. They forcibly removed mixed-race children, born to white settlers and the local indigenous people, from their families and placed them in the Moore River camp, intending to train and educate them to become cheap labor. They even sought to change their so-called "inferior bloodline" through arranged marriages. 14-year-old Molly (played by Everlyn Sampi) is one of these children. Unable to endure the painful life in the camp, she bravely decides to escape. Accompanying Molly are Daisy (played by Tianna Sansbury) and Gracie (played by Laura Monaghan). The three girls must face a daunting journey of one thousand five hundred miles and the relentless pursuit of their captor, Moodoo (David Gulpilil). Will the children successfully reach their destination? What kind of life awaits them there?
