At the age of seven, Darrin (Kevin Spacey) was predicted by doctors not to live past fifteen. However, with the help and support of his mother Polly (Brenda Blethyn), his sister Nina (Caroline Aaron), and Jeff Charlie (Bob Hoskins), Darrin eventually grew up to become a moderately well-known singer.
