Insurance company investigator Gu Zhiming (played by Alan Tam) rushes home on a rainy night to celebrate his fiancée Ivy (played by Julie Yeh) as they mark their four-year engagement. Unfortunately, the slippery roads lead him to nearly collide with a woman in a red dress... Ivy has a fiery temper, and although Gu Zhiming is dissatisfied, he can only endure. That night, Gu Zhiming’s younger brother plays a spirit game, and at the same time, a woman named Zhang Xiaoyu in red accidentally falls to her death. The ongoing spirit game coincidentally receives a signal from Zhang's passing. The next day, Gu Zhiming is assigned to investigate the cause of Zhang Xiaoyu's death for compensation purposes, but a series of strange phenomena occur around him.
