The film takes place in a dark forest where an enormous mythical beast known as Shimmering lives. It can appear in water as well as on land. If people coexist harmoniously with it, it will bring good fortune and peace to the area. However, no one is allowed to disclose this secret or let outsiders see it. If they do see it, they must remain silent. Otherwise, they will face the beast's revenge. Five naive urban youths unknowingly arrive here and break this ancient taboo. Terrifying retributions unfold one by one, and no one can escape the curse of the spirit... Regarding the cast, the director initially considered Hong Kong actor Anthony Wong, but due to scheduling conflicts, he chose another top star, Ye Tong, paired with mainland singer Hong Dou. This film is the deadliest in terms of the number of deaths within modern domestic themes. It barely passed the review by mainland film authorities.
