Mark (played by Hanno Koffler) is about to become a riot police officer, and he and his girlfriend are expecting the birth of their child; life seems to be going smoothly. During his training at the police academy, Mark meets his roommate Kay (played by Max Riemelt). The two run, swim, and smoke marijuana together, and Mark feels an unprecedented sense of ease. As his feelings develop, he finally realizes that he has a latent desire for same-sex attraction. When Kay applies to transfer to Mark's police unit, they discover that this relationship is mutual. The unprecedented thrill disrupts Mark's comfortable life, and he begins to appear like a different person in the eyes of his family and girlfriend. Mark's world is entering a vacuum, and he starts to experience a free fall in life... This is the feature debut of German director Stephan Lacant, an emotionally rich coming-of-age film, selected for the "Perspectives German Cinema" section of the 63rd Berlin International Film Festival. What price must one pay to stay true to oneself? Should one be loyal to family and responsibilities, or to one's own heart?
