Between this cup of wine and the next, lies their entire life. Though awake, still intoxicated, the boy Mouse drifts aimlessly through life, hanging around the market. He finally meets a mute girl blocking the street, and life gains focus. Mouse admires his cousin's boyfriend, Shuo Ge, who is a heartthrob and a rising star in the hotel scene. Even his openly gay brother Shang He is smitten. Is it the wine that captivates, or does life become clearer with each drink? Faced with Shang He’s allure, the seemingly eternal laws in Shuo Ge's life begin to waver. Failing to establish a household, the boundaries of love and gender blur, and possibilities arise. As they push the limits of life, dancing dangerously close to death ignites an indescribable vitality. With the image of his mother looming, are they seeking light in the darkness, or are they just chasing empty dreams? A vivid and intense depiction, tackling fierce themes, youth and desire swell to a point of overflow. This is the culmination of Zhang Zuqi's cinematic work, reflecting on the dual edges of city and life, creating a page of ruin aesthetics, and also an aesthetics of the lost.
