Zhong Li (Qin Han) falls in love with a girl named Zhong Pingmei (Lin Fengjiao). However, the Hakka people have a rule that those with the same surname cannot marry. With no other option, Zhong Li leaves alone for Shenyang to further his studies. Two years later, he returns to be with Zhong Pingmei, and they elope to Shenyang, creating a small and warm family.
