12-year-old DJ (Mitchel Musso) is a guy who loves to fantasize. He thinks the abandoned old house across the street owned by an old man is eerie, and some objects in the area often go missing. After careful observation, DJ discovers that the missing items have been consumed by the old house, leading him to believe the old man's missing companion must have been eaten too. However, the adults and even his friends think DJ is just imagining things. One day before Halloween, DJ and his friend Chowder (Sam Lerner) accidentally throw a basketball in front of the old house. They watch as a mysterious force pulls the basketball inside; even their newly moved-in friend Jenny (Spencer Locke) almost becomes a delicacy of the old house. Now the friends believe DJ's claims, but the adults still think they are just fooling around. To stop the old house from continuing its evil ways, the friends decide to join forces and fight back.
