In 1944, as World War II was nearing its end, the Nazi army established three concentration camps for death row inmates in eastern Poland, one of which was called Sobibor. Another camp experienced a mass escape, leading the officials guarding Sobibor to vow that such an event would never happen there. In this camp filled with torture, escaping was the only way out. The situation was even more dire as for every group of prisoners that escaped, the Germans would execute an equivalent number of inmates. Any major escape attempt would mean certain death for the responsible guards and German officials. However, one inmate led 600 others in a mass breakout from this heavily guarded camp, with 300 succeeding, becoming a miracle in history. (Source: VeryCD.com)
