The story takes place 20 years after the previous installment, where Jane (Emily Mortimer) and Michael (Ben Whishaw) are now adults, having experienced the ups and downs of life. After the death of his wife, Michael takes on the responsibility of supporting the family and caring for his children. Unfortunately, Annabel (Pixie Davies), John (Nathanael Saleh), and Georgie (Joel Dawson) all exhibit the same mischievous spirit as their father did in his youth, making Michael's hair stand on end. He has no choice but to call his sister Jane for help. One day, while the kids are playing in the park, a gust of wind brings back the magical nanny Mary Poppins (Emily Blunt), whose return brings new hope to this struggling family.
