During World War II, four children go to the countryside with their parents to escape the war. The rural houses are quaint, and one room contains a large wardrobe. One day, the children play hide and seek, and Lucy (Georgie Henley) hides inside the wardrobe, where she unexpectedly discovers a magical world—snowy and desolate. As she walks in the snow, she encounters a faun. The other children also enter this magical wardrobe one by one. They learn that the kingdom inside is called Narnia and is under the rule of an evil witch. The witch wants to capture these outsiders, but the children, realizing the dark rule of the witch over Narnia, join forces with the great lion Aslan to help Narnia begin its fight for liberation.
