The film tells the story of a man who participated in the Vietnam War and learns about the suicide of his son whom he hasn't seen for a long time. Although he is told that his son jumped to his death while drunk, the man begins to doubt the circumstances surrounding his son's death after seeing his sorrowful granddaughter, the strange bruises on his son, and the lack of evidence that he was intoxicated. When the police refuse to reopen the investigation, he decides to find out the truth about his son's death himself.
