The story takes place during the Zhengyuan period of the Tang Dynasty. The old lady (played by Wang Fuli) takes her daughter Cui Yingying (played by Chen Lifeng), maid Hongniang (played by Liu Xin), and others to Puji Temple to hold a memorial for the late Minister Cui, but on the way, the carriage is disturbed.
