Under the influence of her aunt Clarissa (played by Sibylle Canonica), the girl Lala (played by Sylvie Testud) becomes interested in playing the clarinet. Music serves as a catalyst for Lala's increasingly close relationship with Clarissa. This development complicates the feelings of Lala's father Martin (played by Howie Seago), as his relationship with Clarissa is not harmonious. Ten years pass in the blink of an eye, and Lala's achievements and talents in music earn her the opportunity to further her studies at a professional music academy. On Clarissa's suggestion, she decides to move to Berlin to live with her aunt. This decision creates a storm at home; despite her parents' strong opposition, the stubborn and headstrong Lala persists in her path. The death of her mother matures Lala significantly, and after a series of challenges, she finally understands the importance of family and kinship.
