Former CIA agent Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) enjoys a peaceful retirement away from the battlefield, relishing his time with Sarah (Mary-Louise Parker). One day, he is unexpectedly witness to the brutal death of his old partner Marvin Boggs (John Malkovich), making him the next target in a hunt against him. It all stems from the Nightshade Project, a scheme from the Cold War era. The U.S. government, eager to eliminate anyone who knows about it, aims to silence Frank and Marvin. Marvin miraculously returns to rescue Frank from danger, and together with Sarah, they go on the run to find a key figure connected to the Nightshade Project.
