A family migrating from the mainland to Taiwan harbors their own secrets beneath the surface of everyday tranquility. The grandmother (Tang Ruyun) is emotionally attached to the mainland and yearns to return; the father (Tian Feng) and mother (Mei Fang), despite feeling awkward about being "people from other provinces," are well aware that returning to the mainland is just a dream; the sister (Xiao Ai) has nearly accepted herself as a local Taiwanese and occasionally sheds tears out of sadness for having given up university to lessen her parents' burdens; the young boy Ah Xiaogu (You Anshun), on the other hand, focuses solely on how to enjoy his play time, having no concept of the mainland, and feels a sudden lack of deep sorrow over his father's death. However, due to the family's unique situation, Ah Xiaogu, in his naivety, knows he is not entirely the same as his peers. Although he outwardly engages in activities that most growing boys do (such as fighting and developing a crush on a girl), internally, a seed of sudden transformation is already buried, waiting for the right opportunity to bloom.
