From the winter of 1952 to the beginning of 1953, the Korean War entered a stalemate phase. Both sides began a low-intensity sniper warfare, famously known in history as the "Cold Gun and Cold Cannon Movement." On the Volunteer Army side, class leader Liu Wenwu (played by Zhang Yu) led Sniper Team Five, which was highly skilled, with exceptional marksmanship and outstanding achievements, becoming a red killing machine that the US military feared and hated. To curb the "arrogance" of Sniper Team Five, the US military command dispatched a sniper squad led by John (played by Cao Cao Jonathan Kos-Read) in an attempt to capture Zhang Yu.
