He is a cat in boots (voiced by Antonio Banderas) who has been a chivalrous hero for years, wandering through the world with exceptional swordsmanship, boldness, and charm. Though he is a wanted criminal by the authorities, he is never afraid and remains calm. In a very unfriendly tavern, the booted cat hears that Jack (voiced by Billy Bob Thornton) and Jill (voiced by Amy Sedaris), a notorious duo, have obtained the legendary magic beans, which lead directly to the giant's palace, where a goose that lays golden eggs resides. The booted cat decides to take the risk and steal the magic beans but is thwarted by a mysterious black cat. Lured by the black cat, he arrives at a gathering place for cats, where he accidentally meets his old friend from the orphanage, Humpty Dumpty (voiced by Zach Galifianakis), while the black cat is the seductive Kitty Softpaws (voiced by Salma Hayek). Humpty Dumpty hopes to reorganize the bean gang with Puss to acquire the egg-laying golden goose...
