On New Year's Eve in Liuji Village, the widow Zhang Caixia (played by Yuan Jiamin) and her mother-in-law Li Yuemei mysteriously disappeared. After reporting to the police, investigations identified three suspects: Liu Dongmin (played by Chen Baoyuan), the manager of the village's quarry, Liu Fang (played by Baduo), an unemployed drifter, and Liu Shanpao (played by Sang Ping), a demolition worker at the quarry.
