Lincoln (portrayed by Denzel Washington) becomes paralyzed due to a work-related incident. He was once a renowned detective, solving countless cases, but ever since his paralysis, he has shut himself off from the world. This time, he is invited by the New York police to assist with a mysterious murder case. Initially, Lincoln declines the invitation, but after seeing the details of the case, he becomes emotionally invested. Recently, a mysterious dismemberment case has occurred in New York, and the murderer has deliberately left evidence to challenge the police.
