Miyako visited the psychiatric clinic run by togemura around the time the evening consultation hours were ending. Working at a travel agency, Miyako lived with a woman named Kimie, and she confided in Togemura that Kimie was abnormally jealous and troubled her. On her way back, Otayama helped Miyako, who was being forcefully pursued by Togemura's patient Hirayama, and he escorted her back to her apartment. A few days later, one day, Kimie called Togemura and said, "Don't create a rift between us!" Concerned about Miyako, Togemura approached her and mentioned Kimie's call.
