In the 1950s South Africa, during the implementation of apartheid. The film tells the story of the special relationship between the women Miriam (played by Lisa Ray) and Amira (played by Sheetal Sheth) in such a unique era. Miriam's married life is unhappy; she discovers that her husband is having an affair with her sister-in-law and can only endure it silently. Until Amira, dressed in cowboy attire, appears in her repressed life, and the two beautiful women fall in love at first sight. Amira, a woman of rebellious spirit, is firmly against the apartheid system, which is precisely what attracts Miriam to her. The delicate and subtle emotions between the two women manifest in every playful touch of their fingertips and every gaze exchanged. They transcend not only the barriers of gender but also the divides of race. The film is adapted and directed by Shemin R. Salfer based on her own novel of the same name.
