Sheng Qin (played by Aliya) has a father, Mr. Sheng (played by Wang Deshun), who suffers from dementia and his condition worsens, ultimately becoming unable to take care of himself. To care for her father's daily needs, Sheng Qin hires a caregiver named Mianhua (played by Yan Bingyan). Although Mr. Sheng's memory diminishes daily, he is constantly reminded of his wife who passed away many years ago. Shortly after Mianhua starts working, Mr. Sheng frequently mistakes her for his wife, causing numerous problems and leading Sheng Qin to doubt Mianhua's character.
