"The Soul on the Leather Rope" is adapted from two short stories by Tibet's magical realism representative author, Tashi Dawa: "Tibet, the Soul Tied to a Leather Rope" and "On the Road to Lhasa." The film tells the story of a hunter burdened with original sin and generations of feuds, who is reborn and guided by a living Buddha, overcoming inner demons along the way, and ultimately escorting the sacred object, the天珠, to the place where Master Padmasambhava left his palm imprint.
