Eleven-year-old Mia (Daniah De Villiers) moves with her family from London to South Africa, living on a local farm. Leaving her familiar hometown, the vast plains of Africa fail to capture Mia's attention; instead, she constantly yearns for her past city life. Since moving here, her youthful face has lost its smile and gained a shadow of sadness. One day, a new member arrives on the farm—a little lion named Charlie. Charlie's arrival brings joy back to Mia, and every day living with Charlie offers new surprises waiting to be discovered.
