Pedro Almodóvar, Antonio Banderas, and Penélope Cruz will collaborate on the new film "Pain and Glory" (Dolor y Gloria), set to begin shooting in early July. In contrast to Almodóvar's previous film "Julieta," the film's protagonists will be two male characters, played by Banderas and Asier Etxeandia, with Cruz and Julieta Serrano in supporting roles. It tells the story of an aging film director's life, encompassing first love, second romantic experiences, his mother, death, and some actors he has worked with, spanning the 60s, 80s, and the present day. A sense of emptiness and inability to adapt has led him to be unable to make films now.
