The film is adapted from the novel "Origins," written by Oscar Roller himself. The story spans from 1949, after the end of World War II, into the 1980s, depicting the tale of three generations of a family in West Germany. Robert Freitag (Renard Schleißer)'s grandfather Erich (Jürgen Vogel), a war prisoner, entrusted his wife to another woman during his escape. Robert's parents, writer Nora and Rolf, torment each other due to a scandal and head towards destruction in their pursuit of self-fulfillment and free love. Robert himself grows between the safety of his grandparents' home and the suppressed life of the '68 generation, struggling to find his own happiness. by: yakubd.cc
