The story takes place in a mountainous area of North China. Clumsy Shan (played by Zhao Benshan) encounters the depressed Mu Du (played by Shi Guoqing) after being laid off. They post an advertisement in the county town: Shanmu Multi-functional Co., Ltd. offers services for weddings, funerals, massages, and beauty treatments. Customers flock in, but they have no understanding of the services advertised. The clients being massaged scream as if pigs are being slaughtered, and the double eyelid procedures rely entirely on drawing. Those seeking fortune-telling are left confused and disoriented. On the second day of opening, someone comes looking for them to settle accounts, and they flee in panic. They escape to the countryside and take on a responsibility for a hundred-day celebration for a village chief's grandson. Clumsy Shan also accepts the task of arranging a marriage between Aunt Zhang (played by Chen Lizhong) and Aunt Wang (played by Huang Suying). The impersonating chef Mu Du is in a frenzy trying to prepare a dish called monkey brain, and Clumsy Shan hurriedly brings out a plate of pig brain as a substitute.
