Hundreds of years ago, Maoshan heir Zhang Susu (Chen Jialing) and her brother teamed up to fend off a fox spirit seeking revenge, but Zhang Susu succumbed to her injuries. Time passed, and in 1991 Hong Kong, the 37th generation Maoshan heir Zhang Wu (Hu Feng) opened a shop in a building, while welcoming his adopted son Ah Hua, who came from the mainland and possesses special abilities. Zhang Wu's daughter Ah Ru (Ng Man-tat) dissatisfied with her father's frugality starts her own business disguised as a "great master," deceiving people, while another daughter, Ah Yi (Chen Jialing), captures Ah Hua's heart. A great lama able to develop special abilities came to Hong Kong seeking a reincarnated soul, but discovered that there were supernatural beings within the building where Zhang Wu's shop is located. Soon, the hidden fox spirit revealed itself, and the great lama, Zhang Wu's family, along with a Christian gang leader, teamed up to fight against the evil.
