King Samson, the lion at the New York Zoo, is the only animal in the zoo born outside of it. He often boasts to the other animals about his wild experiences, but in reality, he was born in a circus, let alone having any wild experiences. His father's colorful past deeply inspires the young lion Ryan, who longs to have his own adventure in the wild. An accident occurs, and by a twist of fate, Ryan is sent on a cargo ship headed to Africa to release wild animals. Samson, frantic after losing his son, leads a group of zoo animals to search for him in the African jungle.
